What is IL-6?
IL-6 is produced within the body to stimulate the immune system in response to infections and injuries. It is downregulated by IL-6 blockers once it is no longer needed. Humans have evolved to acquire IL-6 blockers through our diet. However, our modern diet often does not provide adequate levels of IL-6 blockers. In cases where the body does not downregulate IL-6, IL-6 blocker drugs may be used.
